The Worst Argument I Have Ever Had!

The I never had a worst argument ever. But, I did have one recently with my sister. We were arguing whether the action she made was right on her hand. I do not really want to get into the full story on what happened. But, it dealt with a her friend telling my sisters secrets to a friend my sister was not on good terms with. My sister was mortified  when she found out. So out of anger she did the same thing to her friend but told a different person. They were both furious with each other. So, when my sister told me what had happened. I told her they were both in the wrong because they are best friends and that they should be loyal to each other and respectful of their wishes. She was upset that I did not support her side. Now let me mind you my sister is hard headed and she does not like hearing the truth. So, she was mad at me for awhile, but finally she came around and told me I was right. I relplied "I know I am!!" And we laughed and the very next day she apologized to he

Frida Kahlo By: Hedda Garza

The book Frida Kahlo is a biography about Frida Kahlo. It talks about all the obstacles she has faced in life and all of her best secessions. The book is also talks about childhood memories and the disease she received when she was younger called Poliomyelitis. So here is a little more detail about the book. On September 17, 1925 a bus crash in Mexico killed several people and injured many more. On that bus there was a woman named Frida Kahlo, after the accident happened she was found near the tracks severely injured. She was pieced right through the stomach with a metal holding bar that was on the bus. While she was confined due to her injury, she decided to start painting. Due to that accident the 20th century gained their most beautiful and talented artist-Frida Kahlo.  My opinion on the book, is that it was really great the book leaves you wondering why she made certain decisions, shows great imagery  on how things were back in her time, and how cruel woman can be. I enjoyed l

Don't Fake It Till You Make It. Fake It Till You Become It!

I am very confident when it comes to sports and being around my family. I am known for being good at sports such as basketball, volleyball, track, etc. I do not consider myself the best of the best but I am confident that I know what I'm doing, and I can get my team somewhere. With my family I am a sort of a different person than I am at school. I am more loud, confident, and crazy. I am also confident when I have to take care of my baby brother. I am confident because my parents trust me and know that I will take good care of him while their gone.  Now when it comes to school I am not as confident as I am at home. I am less loquacious  and I am definitely not as loud as I am at home. What I mean by not confident I mean I am not confident when it comes to knowing the answer and raising my hand in class. I usually have the correct answer but I am afraid to get rejected and be told it is the wrong answer. Like in my San Kulpa blog I want to be more confident in myself and trust m

Where I'm From Poem

Where I’m From Poem By: Laysa Castellanos  I am from home-cooked Caribbean food being cooked almost everyday, the  smell of frying plantains in the morning.  I'm from scrapes and bruises us kids receive because we are so reckless outside.  I am from the “Turn right at the big AutoZone sign” on Wesley Ave. I'm from big smiles and welcoming hearts,  From Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. I am from the loud mouths and  crazy personalities. I am from “You're talking too loud!” and from “What did you say! Speak up!”  I am from the strongest people I know. And the most supportive people I know.  I am from people who take respect and loyalty very serious.  And most of all, I am blessed to have the family I have.  Therefore, I am from my family which I perfectly fit into without a doubt.

What You Do Matters

This winter break I was very helpful to my family. I helped by baby sitting my baby brother, I clean the kitchen while my mom was cooking, I shoveled my neighbors snow, and I helped my dad fix a lamp. Plus more. I felt really good helping out around as much as I can. It made my family happy and it made me happy. Helping is the least I can do to show my gratitude to my parents, because they have done so much for me and for Christmas they went all out. I could not show them how thankful I was. But, I  decided helping around as much as I can could be a start. So if you want to make your parents smile today and or show them your gratitude, helping around is a very good start.  Did you help your parents or family over this winter break? If not, don't worry it won't be the end of the world. Just start today, and it will sure make a difference. It's never too late to help!  What you do matters whether it's out of the kindness of your heart or it's the much love you ha
